We will develop student skills to describe, interpret, analyze, synthesize, and/or create so they can support a claim with evidence through writing.
Additionally, we will develop our students' ability to source, contextualize, and evaluate multiple perspectives.
Our Promise
We promise that each and every teacher in the Social Studies department commits to trying his/her best to help your child grow as a student and a person. As part of our classes, we emphasis the California History Social Science Framework that focuses in on four key areas: Content, Inquiry, Literacy, and Citizenship.
- Content: Students will learn about each particular content area as outlined by the California State Standards in World History, US History, Government, Economics, Psychology, and Sociology.
- Inquiry: Students will build on their analysis and application skills by engaging in critically thinking lessons.
- Literacy: Students will enhance their reading and writing skills by engaging in lessons of different mediums, including use of Google Classroom.
- Citizenship: Students will explore their role and responsibility as globalized citizens
