Report an Absence

Birmingham Community Charter High School has developed attendance policies and procedures in order to comply with California state law. Our goal is to make sure you are aware of any absence and its impact on learning.

All students at Birmingham Community Charter High School should have an attendance percentage of 96% or above. The school recognizes the importance of excellent attendance and punctuality in order that students can maximize and achieve their potential. Parents/Guardians are legally responsible to ensure their child attends school regularly and attend on time. The school expects students to be in school and on time every day barring serious illness or accident. Good attendance is vital in ensuring your child achieves the best possible outcomes when they graduate. It also ensures that they are well versed in the standards required for successful future employment.

The most common way for Birmingham to communicate an absence to a parent/guardian is through the automated message system.  Please ensure we have your most up to date phone number in our system. A letter may be mailed if a student has multiple absences.
