Work Experience Education
General Work Experience is an elective class that combines classroom instruction with paid employment. The major emphasis of this course is to provide students with supervised paid employment to assist them in developing desirable attitudes and work habits in real jobs. Through this on-the-job experience, the student will learn how to work for and with other people. The course grade and credit is earned by the completion of the course requirements which include: submitting paycheck stubs, attending class, completing class assignments, submitting required forms, and maintaining employment.
Students must be employed a minimum of 15 weeks during the semester. Students earn elective credit based on the number of total hours they work during the semester (between 2.5-10 credits).
