Art Teacher / Fine Arts Chair
Teaching is a second career for me, as I've been a working artist all my life. After graduating from Boston University's School for the Arts with a major in advertising design, I was employed by various newspapers, private companies and advertising agencies as a graphic designer and art director. I later opened my own freelance design firm and made brochures, logo designs and ads for a diverse clientele. I also displayed my mixed media collage paintings at many venues all over Los Angeles for 5 years.
When my son went to college I decided to go to graduate school at CSUN and get a credential to teach art to high school students and share some of my knowledge and abilities. I was awarded the Student Teacher of the Year Award in Art when at CSUN. Birmingham has been a great school for me and one where I have enjoyed teaching and developing a good rapport with teachers and students alike.
