Dear Birmingham Community,

It is with great enthusiasm I begin my nineteenth year in education (six years at BCCHS)  as we return to the classroom.  I am motivated by the democratizing power of education and hope to support students cooperatively in their successes in and outside of the classroom.

Raised in a small town in Northern California, I moved to the Southern California in 2003.  I am involved in a number of activities including the Oxnard Masonic Lodge, Shriners in Los Angeles, Scottish Rite member in Ventura, Commissioner for the Parks in Oxnard, and a member of the Tournament of Rose Parade in Pasadena.

I am proud to serve on a dynamic team at BCCHS and support the school vision of "collaborat[ing] to create an academically challenging, personalized, an supportive environment" for students to pursue their own academic and career goals.

To ensure success, students should (1) attend class regularly (2) look to academically grow (3) check AERIES for updated grades (4) and email me and/or come see me at lunch if any questions.

I look forward to the new school year and a productive partnership for student success.  If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Dr. Carlo Aaron Purther, Ed.D
