Grief & Loss Support

Grief is challenging and takes many forms. It can affect you physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. OUR HOUSE believes that no one should go through grief alone. Groups allow for sharing, learning and coping in an intimate, home-like sense of community.

GoPass TAP Card:
BCCHS Students can enjoy the freedom of going anywhere, anytime for FREE on Metro buses and trains.
- Pick up your registration code, or TAP Card replacement at the Student Store.

You can now get your Fareless Student TAP card downloaded on your phone.

Obtain an Eligibility Code from the Student Store to register a Replacement Card. Follow the instructions during registration. The last step asks you to choose between a Plastic TAP Card or a Virtual TAP Card.

Important: You can NOT register for both a plastic and virtual card at the same time. When you register your new virtual card, your plastic card will be canceled immediately.

YMCA - The Hub
The Mid Valley Family YMCA provides free pantry staples to our patriot families. Students and families can access The Hub in the Parent Resource Center.
- We are a choice-based no-limits resource.
- Take what you need, leave what you don’t; no questions asked.
- Accessible to ALL Birmingham students and families.
Enrichment Opportunities
Free After School Programs
Provides free academic, enrichment and physical fitness programs after school for BCCHS students. In addition, they provide activities, events, field trips and workshops to help students discover new opportunities and interests. Students must fill out EduCare Registration form to participate.
Student Intervention
Coaching Support for Cessation of Nicotine
A free educational program with coaching support for students who want help with cessation of nicotine.
- Designed to listen and provide students with the structure, support and strategies they need to quit vaping, smoking or using smokeless tobacco.
- Coaches will help the student create a quit plan that will work for their life.
- Referrals can be made here
Vaping Educational Intervention
Provides a free educational intervention with coaching support for students who have been found with nicotine or marijuana at school.
- Designed to provide a positive experience for students and help them think through their nicotine or marijuana use behavior.
- Students will participate in telephone coaching sessions, watch short educational videos, and complete discussion questions with their parent and/or YVAPE coach. At the conclusion, they will receive a certificate of completion.
