If you receive or know of a student teacher request, connect the student teacher candidate or university representative to HR via email at HR@birminghamcharter.com and CC the administrator who oversees student teaching: Cindy Walker at email@example.com .
HR will request an official student teaching request letter to determine in what type of classroom (i.e. subject) student teaching will be necessary.
HR will reach out to the administrator who oversees that department and the department chair to see if there is availability of a mentor teacher.
HR will submit the request to Ari for approval.
An agreement/MOU will be reviewed, vetted, revised and signed.
HR will begin the Student Teaching onboarding process with the Student Teacher.
When the Student Teacher is cleared, HR will establish a start date with the Student Teacher, Mentor Teacher, administrator, department chair and Cindy Walker.
The employee will inform his/her supervisor of his/her need for student teaching. If the student teaching assignment is feasible (taking in account that student teaching hours are only to be completed before or after the scheduled work hours and may not occur simultaneously nor should it interfere with the current work schedule and hours), the employee and supervisor will inform HR and Cindy Walker of the request.
If no agreement has been established- steps 2-5 of above Request from Student Teacher Candidate or University. If agreement/MOU already established- steps 1-2 of above Request from Student Teacher Candidate- Agreement/MOU already established.
HR will establish a start date with the Student Teacher, Mentor Teacher, administrator, department chair and Cindy Walker.
